Caitlin Ciavarro
Head of Clinical Operations
As Head of Clinical Operations at the Gates Medical Research Institute, Caitlin Ciavarro leads the execution of clinical trials in support of the Institute’s mission to address global health challenges through the development of impactful drug and vaccine candidates.
Caitlin brings over 20 years of experience in clinical operations, with deep expertise in global trial management, operational strategy, and team leadership. Before joining Gates MRI in 2018, she served as a Project Leader overseeing clinical and scientific operations for programs in multiple sclerosis and rare diseases at Sanofi Genzyme and held senior clinical operations roles at GSK and Novartis Vaccines. Caitlin began her career in clinical research at Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Research Associate and at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as a Study Coordinator, gaining hands-on experience in trial coordination and monitoring across a wide range of therapeutic areas.
Caitlin holds an MBA in Global Management from Boston College and a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University.
